FEBRUARY 2023 NEWSLETTER

With the changing status of the Emergency Covid Pandemic funds some thought that we were saying the pandemic is over, but it is more accurate to say the funding is changing. The SNAP Supplement is about to end Federally and in New Mexico. The funding changes make our Little Free Pantries more important than ever for families in the Taos area. We extend heartfelt and ongoing thanks to all who are present and past stewards. The project could not have succeeded without you.

The Little Free Pantry program was the second biggest expense in 2022 for Taos Immigrant Allies.  With the funding changes 2023 presents more challenges, and we are looking hard for more people interested in restocking our present 9 LFPs and/or offering financial support to this project. If you are interested in helping restock an LFP please contact me (Del). If you are able to support this project financially please visit your DONATE PAGE.

Note: our new way to donate via PayPal or credit card if desired, and sending a check is always welcome. All donations are tax deductible.

Of interest – The LFP Project has been expanded by other organizations: at Taos Pueblo as a Youth Project; at the UNM-Taos Campus; and at Questa as a High school social studies project. Please help support all Food Insecurity projects.

With much gratitude,
All the volunteers at TIA
